Reminders

  • It is important to have the readings completed, and notes taken, prior to the week we discuss them. Expect to spend 2 to 3 hours of reading/preparation for each one hour of class. We will read extensively from the required materials, taking notes on the readings before the class period is very important. Taking good notes in class is also important; some class material is not in the assigned readings.
  • The best predictors of your grade at the end of this course are: a) attendance (zero missed classes), b) completing the readings in advance, and c) taking good notes from the readings and the lectures
  • If you feel you will not do well in this course, or if you find the readings difficult, make sure to visit me in office hours – in person or via Zoom or Webex. If my regular office hours don't fit your schedule, we can make an appointment for a more suitable time. Office hours are an opportunity to understand each other, and this course, a little better - it is foolish not to take advantage of them. Visits to office hours count toward your score on participation.

Preparing for Finals -- don't forget the big cases.
