The New York Journal of Sociology considers the following materials for publication: full-length articles; monographs; translations; research notes; audio and visual materials; book reviews; short book notes; and interviews.  The journal is open to innovative proposals falling outside these parameters and will be considered on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the editors.  In submitting your manuscript you are agreeing to the following conditions: (a) your manuscript is not currently under review by any other publication nor will it be submitted to any publication while under review by TNYJS; and (b) all submitted materials are free of copyright restrictions, or, authors have secured proper authorization to publish materials protected by copyright.

2. Your paper should include the following: (a) title page; (b) an abstract of approximately 200 words; and (c) a reference section.  Do not worry, at this time, with formating your paper in any particular style.  If your manuscript is selected for publication you will be required to bring it in line with the journal’s formatting and stylistic guidelines that will be sent to you under separate cover.


3. Once our in-house evaluation is complete and, if applicable, all the external reviews are in, the lead author will receive a letter and/or reviews from the journal.  The review process may take as long as 16 weeks.
