The
Cherry scallop shell caterpillar is a leaf tyer. Small groups of caterpillars
feed from within the leaf shelter. When the leaves are exhausted
the caterpil
lars move to a new site and form a new leaf shelter.
The foraging behavior of the caterpillars is largely unstudied
