The National Fire Protection
Association is the body that compiles the National
Electrical Code (NFPA 70). It is available to read
online in exchage for you registering .
- The North American Board of Certified Energy
Practitioners (NABCEP) offers certification for PV
installation professionals. Information about this
certification process is available here.
- New York has three major electrical grid operators
they all allow net metering:
- National Grid is the private company that operates the
electrical grid
in Cortland
and large parts of NY. Their interconnect for
distributed renewable energy information

- NYSEG is the other major electrical grid operator in
NY state. Their interconnection for distributed

- PSEG
Long Island has taken over for Long Island Power
Authority (LIPA). Their
