The National Fire Protection
Association is the body that compiles the National
Electrical Code (NFPA 70). It is available to read
online in exchage for you registering .
- The North American Board of Certified Energy
Practitioners (NABCEP) offers certification for PV
installation professionals. Information about this
certification process is available here.
- New York has three major electrical grid operators
they all allow net metering:
- National Grid is the private company that operates the
electrical grid
in Cortland
and large parts of NY. Their interconnect for
distributed renewable energy information
is available here.
- NYSEG is the other major electrical grid operator in
NY state. Their interconnection for distributed
renewable energy (distributed generation) information
is available here.
- PSEG
Long Island has taken over for Long Island Power
Authority (LIPA). Their
interconnection for distributed renewable energy (renewable
energy) information is available here.

report by the California Energy Commission on the design and
